While the risks and prevalence of fuel starvation in endurance sports (such as cycling) are widely debated, much less is known Why athletes are under-supplied.

Is it because they just don’t know what the current carb intake recommendations are? Or are they instead struggling to put their knowledge into practice? Or perhaps endurance athletes may be fully aware of the recommendations, but choose to ignore them for some other reason?
